We will own consumer loans through CSO lending activities in Texas. We also provide on-balance sheet financing to small and middle-sized alternative finance companies. We focus on companies with strong sponsorship and talented management teams. We have a strong track record of closing deals on the terms and within the time frame initially indicated.
John J. Braden
Jay Braden co-founded Bastion Consumer Funding in 2013. Mr. Braden, CEO, oversees the Firm’s fund raising, deal origination and portfolio monitoring activities. Prior to Bastion, Mr. Braden was president of Castillo LLC, an investment management firm. He had a 20 year career in leveraged finance; most recently as Head of High Yield Capital Markets at Wachovia Securities.
Mr. Braden received a BA from Roanoke College and an MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
Timothy J. Reimink
Tim Reimink co-founded Bastion Consumer Funding in 2013. Mr. Reimink, Senior VP, oversees the Firm’s CSO platform as well as regulatory compliance, treasury management and accounting functions. Prior to Bastion, Mr. Reimink worked in business development for an international wealth management company where he originated and structured over $4 billion in investments. Prior thereto, he was an associate at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. in the investment banking division.
Mr. Reimink received a BA from Indiana University and an MBA from The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Ed serves as Managing Director at Bastion, leads the Firm’s transaction origination and execution efforts and is a member of the Investment Committee. Previously, Ed managed debt and equity portfolios at Revere Capital, Vion/MHR Fund, and Reservoir Capital, where he also served on several Ad Hoc and Official Creditor/Bondholder and Equityholder Committees for numerous Chapter 11 reorganizations/restructurings.
Ed graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with an A.B. in English Literature and received a JD from Harvard Law School.
Michael V. Leventakos
Mike Leventakos is the Director of Finance at Bastion. Mike is responsible for the Company’s day to day treasury management, accounting and investor relations activity. Mike previously served as the Controller at SSARIS Advisors, LLC; the Assistant Controller/Fund Accounting Manager at Weston Capital Management, LLC; and as a fund accountant at AQR Capital Management. He has more than 13 years of experience in the asset management industry, beginning his career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Mike received a BS from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Sacred Heart University. He is a CPA registered with the state of Connecticut.
Christopher M. Docimo
Chris Docimo is a Vice President at Bastion. Mr. Docimo is responsible for the Company's portfolio monitoring, unit economic modeling, risk analysis and treasury management. Prior to Bastion, Mr. Docimo was a Senior Portfolio Analyst at the Dowling Group Wealth Management.
Chris graduated cum laude from the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in Economics.
Garrett Furnivall is an Associate at Bastion. He is responsible in assisting in the monitoring of the portfolio and various treasury functions. Prior to joining Bastion, Mr. Furnivall was an Analyst at Praesidian Capital, a private investment firm providing debt and equity capital to lower middle market companies.
Garrett holds a B.S. from Boston College.
Stephen McCarthy joined Bastion as an Analyst in 2021. His responsibilities include assisting in portfolio monitoring and unit economic modeling. Prior to joining Bastion, Stephen was a consultant at a corporate / startup accelerator in Shanghai, China and a consultant intern in Alvarez and Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement group.
Stephen holds a B.A in Economics from Gettysburg College.
Bridget joined Bastion as a Fund Accountant in 2021. Her responsibilities include assisting with accounting and treasury functions. Prior to joining Bastion, Bridget was a Retail and Treasury Accounting Analyst at Breitling, a Swiss owned luxury watchmaker. She was responsible for bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and cash forecasting.
Bridget holds a B.A. in Economics from Fairfield University.
