Bastion focuses on providing financing solutions to companies in the consumer and business to business lending sectors. We understand the regulatory complexities and capital challenges these companies face. Our industry focus and knowledge affords us the ability to diligence the most complex situations and provide customized financing solutions.

We provide on-balance sheet financing to small and middle-sized alternative finance companies. We focus on companies with strong sponsorship and talented management teams. We have a strong track record of closing deals on the terms and within the time frame initially indicated.

Our Team

John J. Braden

Jay Braden co-founded Bastion in 2013. Mr. Braden, CEO, oversees the Firm’s fund raising, deal origination and portfolio monitoring activities. Prior to Bastion, Mr. Braden was president of Castillo LLC, an investment management firm. He had a 20 year career in leveraged finance; most recently as Head of High Yield Capital Markets at Wachovia Securities.

Mr. Braden received a BA from Roanoke College and an MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.

Timothy J. Reimink

Tim Reimink co-founded Bastion in 2013. Mr. Reimink, Senior VP, oversees the Firm’s CSO platform as well as regulatory compliance, treasury management and accounting functions. Prior to Bastion, Mr. Reimink worked in business development for an international wealth management company where he originated and structured over $4 billion in investments. Prior thereto, he was an associate at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. in the investment banking division.

Mr. Reimink received a BA from Indiana University and an MBA from The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Tim Joyce

Tim Joyce joined Bastion Management II LLC in 2022. Tim leads the Firm’s transaction origination and execution efforts, co-overseas Portfolio Monitoring and is a member of the Investment Committee. Previously, Tim was the Global Head of Corporate Banking at Credit Suisse where he acted as Chair of the Corporate Bank Investment Committee. He was responsible for the approval and management of all lending relationships held on the Corporate Bank’s balance sheet. Tim led the Corporate Lending, Enterprise Valuation, and Portfolio Management teams and regularly interacted with the Executive Board and senior management on several of Credit Suisse’s risk and advisory committees.

Tim holds a BSBA in Finance from Georgetown University.

Michael V. Leventakos

Mike Leventakos is the Director of Finance at Bastion. Mike is responsible for the Company’s day to day treasury management, accounting and investor relations activity. Mike previously served as the Controller at SSARIS Advisors, LLC; the Assistant Controller/Fund Accounting Manager at Weston Capital Management, LLC; and as a fund accountant at AQR Capital Management. He has more than 13 years of experience in the asset management industry, beginning his career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Mike received a BS from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Sacred Heart University. He is a CPA registered with the state of Connecticut.

Chris Docimo

Chris Docimo is a Vice President at Bastion. Mr. Docimo is responsible for the Company's portfolio monitoring, unit economic modeling, risk analysis and treasury management. Prior to Bastion, Mr. Docimo was a Senior Portfolio Analyst at the Dowling Group Wealth Management.

Chris graduated cum laude from the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in Economics.

Garrett Furnivall

Garrett Furnivall is an Associate at Bastion. He is responsible in assisting in the monitoring of the portfolio and various treasury functions. Prior to joining Bastion, Mr. Furnivall was an Analyst at Praesidian Capital, a private investment firm providing debt and equity capital to lower middle market companies.

Garrett holds a B.S. from Boston College.

Kathleen Luci

Kathleen Luci joined Bastion as a Fund Accountant in 2022. Her responsibilities include assisting with accounting and treasury functions. Prior to joining Bastion, Kathleen was a Senior Accountant for the YMCA of Greenwich where she was responsible for bank reconciliations, cash flow projections and presenting monthly financial reviews to the Board of Directors. Kathleen was previously Vice President of Corporate Audit for Merrill Lynch & Co, Inc where she led an internal audit team and worked closely with senior management.

Kathleen holds a B.A. in Accounting from Siena College and has passed all sections of the CPA Exam.

John Marshall

John Marshall joined Bastion as an Analyst in 2022. His responsibilities include assisting in portfolio monitoring, unit economic modeling and treasury management. Prior to joining Bastion, John was an Investment Intern for Verger Capital Management and Data Analyst for the Wake Forest University baseball team.

John holds a B.S. in Business and Enterprise Management from Wake Forest University.
